Woodland Products on the Isle of Wight
Until recently, many woods on the Isle of Wight have only been worked as a firewood resource (if worked at all), with little or no interest shown to other products. Dryad Woodland Enterprise seeks to expand the range of products which our woods contain, with an emphasis on reawakening public awareness and interest in the numerous traditional products and items which modern life has swept into obscurity. Increasingly, we are rediscovering both the charm and functionality of long lost traditional elements of our material culture. Adding value to wood, in the wood is becoming one of the many important ways in which our woods can move closer to self-sustainability.
About Matt Huxley
Matt initially worked as independent sub-contractors for a number of well-respected local woodland workers and tree surgeons before starting Dryad Woodland Enterprise in 2017.
Dryad Woodland Enterprise has since grown to encompass a broad range of woodland work, coppice restoration, forestry.
